Cancer Care Charity Fun Run in Koh Samui
For the past 19 years, Four Seasons Hotels Thailand, including Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, have organized annual charity fun runs to raise funds for cancer research projects in Thailand. Last year’s run successfully raised THB 3.7 million, which was donated to the Genetic Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross Society. This year's event will be the ...6th Cancer Care Charity Fun Run in Koh Samui, and will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 in association with the Thai Red Cross Society and with the support of local partners including business associations, government agencies, schools, and media. Proceeds from the run will go towards research projects currently conducted by the Haematological Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital. Beginning and finishing at Nathon Pier, the run promises to be a fun and enjoyable Saturday outing for professional runners, joggers, families, students and those just wanting to get some pure sea breeze from the Gulf of Thailand and take part in a great event for a good cause. Participants may choose a 2 km, 5 km or 10 km course, all of which are perfect for running and walking. Entertainment activities will also be taking place on the day, and the Queen’s Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner. Registration is from 6:00 am, and the official starting time of the run is 7:00 am. Runners can participate with a minimum donation of THB 250.00 including an official Cancer Care t-shirt, or THB 400.00 including an official polo shirt. All runners will also receive a breakfast box along with Ronnefeldt teas and the chance to win exciting prizes such as accommodation vouchers at various Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world.
